Attended the opening of the Dean Bowen exhibition at Qdos Gallery in Lorne. A bonus on both counts. The gallery is brilliant – set in the hills behind Lorne (a great place to have lunch as well) and Dean Bowen has long been one of my favourite artists, especially his ‘big bird’ series of paintings. He was also exhibiting a number of sculptures, equally as good. Lorne itself is a lovely coastal town on the Victorian coast – lots of great cafes and restaurants, and accessed by the Great Ocean Road, probably one of the most scenic drives in Australia. So, a good day out all round.
