Here I am, working hard at Lake Garda in northern Italy. Aside from the excellent food and wine, I was also taking plenty of photographs for future reference for paintings. The incredible scenery around the northern part of the lake is certainly very inspirational. I was expecting to see a few galleries in the little towns that surround the lake as it would appear to be quite the holiday destination. However, I was surprised at the lack of any kind of art outlet. Other than one or two small galleries selling very sub-standard art, there was nothing, which was disappointing. But there was always another glass of lovely Italian wine to be had.

Hi Sara
As an owner of two of your paintings [both purchased from Seaview Gallery] I was amazed that you were in Northern Italy in June because so was I!! But since I did not know what you looked like I would have not been able to chat anyway…
But the point of my post is to let you know that while in Italy I bought a beautiful painting there from a makeshift gallery next to the Vernazza train station, artist Suzie Barrow, who is an expat Englishwoman living on the Cinque Terre and painting the landscape and underwater scenes there.
I also loved the work of Paolo Fedeli but he was exhibiting in a gallery in San Gimignano at the keramos gallery. I did not buy his work as I had spent a bomb by then, so sorry that I did not buy one, the painting is still listed on the keramos website, so I am saving my funds.
On a different tack, I am very keen on your chook paintings and plan to buy one one day soon.
Stay well, happy and maintain a prolific output, and more chooks!! Please.
Carmel
Hi Carmel – well, we could quite possibly have been in Italy at the same time and just not known, although mine was a very brief trip and restricted to Lake Garda – such a beautiful area. I would certainly like to go back there and explore further afield.
I shall certainly have to do some more chickens. I did just one for the exhibition at Seaview Gallery and of course it was the one that everyone wanted. So will have to get on to that one.
Thanks for contacting me, I always enjoy hearing from people. Best wishes, Sara
