A new gallery! This is always exciting. Sent some paintings, including ‘Celebration’, off today with the owners of a new gallery opening in December in Rutherglen. It’s going to be called Main Street Gallery and is located in a lovely heritage building in the main street (obviously).
The owners, John and Glynis, fell in love with Rutherglen and are in the process of renovating their new gallery. John is also a picture framer so that will be part of the gallery as well. It will be a good excuse to spend a weekend or two in Rutherglen, apparently the wineries around there are quite something.
Hello Sarah,
Firstly, congratulations to Main Street Gallery, I hope we can build a great relationship as purveyors of fine art. I am about to open my fine art and design studio in Toowoomba, Queensland. In my search I have discovered your paintings Sarah which are of the quality and uniqueness I am looking for.
As I am planning to stock high end individual work, I would love to offer some of your wonderful artwork for sale.
Toowoomba is a very wealthy regional area in Queensland, high on an escarpment overlooking the valleys back to Brisbane. It has a very healthy arts community, supplemented by the strong presence of the local University Visual Arts Faculty. While we have galleries and gift shops selling art work here, the concept of Atelier is unique in that it will endeavour to promote Australian artists through shows and exhibitions while showcasing limited edition work on a permanent basis. This way, country buyers can be confident that there will be quality work available from their favourite artists and designers at all times and, of course, available for sale through our website.
While I currently work at the University as Risk Manager, a really non-creative role, I began my working life as a teacher of fine art. I also have experience in establishing a Fashion and Design Incubator some years ago in Melbourne and my passion is to develop a venue here which can be a showcase for Australian artists and designers.
I look forward to us working together and I would love the opportunity to discuss showcasing your work at Atelier. Being an old Geelong girl, I am enjoying your blogs.
Regards,
Carol McCabe
Have just come back from Rutherglen, where we visited Main Street Gallery and saw your gorgeous art work, and some other amazing works of art. What an incredible gallery, the high ceilings, wooden floors and lead light windows just make it a gorgeous place to view the art. I hope John & Glynis do well and I can see why they fell on love with the area. Good luck to all
